Steve Stranz is personally involved in all aspects of landscape design projects from initial client contact to on site project management. By blending traditional precedents with progressive approaches, Steve combines the art of landscape design and science of horticulture into inventive designs. Steve enriched his background from Penn State University's Horticulture program with graduate work at The Conway School. He is licensed to practice Landscape Architecture in New Jersey and Virginia. He began his career with an upscale design build firm located in Princeton, NJ, where he was involved in large scale residential and commercial design projects. From there, he moved to Virginia Beach, VA. After a couple of years in the south, Steve felt the need to return to New Jersey and more creative residential design. His professional background has a substantial focus on the technical aspects of landscape design, implementation, and project construction. He has become a contractor in order to build his projects with the same rigor with which they are designed.

SRS Landscape Architecture is founded upon the philosophy that the architecture of the site is one with the landscape. When properly designed, the two entities work off one another to create an overall unity to the site. The primary steps in the process are to:
By understanding that while an exceptional plan can resolve many issues and predict potential conflicts, rarely will it be implemented without adaptation. To that end, attention to detail ensures that clients receive complete professional services that minimize potential problems. The challenge is to create places that are articulate, site specific and well-crafted while remaining adaptive and open. SRS is committed to landscape design that meets real needs. Our goal is to avoid the shallowness and omissions of most residential landscape design - "decorating with dollars" - instead of addressing the needs of a particular site and its intended use. SRS Landscape Architecture is interested in responsive solutions rather than generic, cookie-cutter designs imposed upon the site and the client.
